Burger wars? Wendy’s is back in this country after 20 years, ready to take on McDonald’s and Burger King

plans to return to the UK for the first time in more than 20 years to take on rivals McDonald’s, Burger King and even burger hangouts like Five Guys.

Wendy’s, known for its square burgers, plans to open up to 400 stores across the UK over the next few years to create 12,000 jobs. The first office opens in Reading, Berkshire, in June, followed by Stratford, East London and Oxford.

The food delivery service Uber Eats wants to use its UK branches as a springboard for expansion across Europe.
