Covid-19: Testing could replace self-isolation, and the impact of being deaf during the pandemic

A new process, if successful, could mean people may not need to self-isolate if they have been in close contact with someone with Covid. The government-sponsored research will look at how people can perform cross-flow tests every day for seven days – instead of quarantining for ten days. As long as they test negative all week, they can go on with their lives. As of May 9, around 40,000 close contacts of people with Covid in England will be invited to participate in the study. Self-isolating means staying home and not leaving, even to buy food, medication, or exercise. Check the current Rules for self-isolation.
