Daniel Guerini began his career as a youth player with Lazio and returned to Club Rome from Turin in January
Lazio have said they are “in pain” following the death of 19-year-old youth midfielder Daniel Guerini.
He was in Lazio’s U19 team and previously played for Turin, Fiorentina and SPAL in their youth.
Lazio said they would “gather around the family” of Guerini, who joined the Rome club’s Primavera side in January.
Turin, where Guerini first appeared in 2017 after leaving Lazio, said they were “deeply saddened”.
Fiorentina, where Guerini had two stints as part of his academy, said they were “shocked and saddened” while SPAL, where he was on loan in 2020, said “the world of football is mourning the premature death” of the teenager.
Lazio’s city rivals Roma, as well as a number of other Italian clubs, including Inter Milan, Atalanta and AC Milan, have also expressed their condolences on Twitter.
