Lewis Thorpe started for Minnesota and dazzled Tampa Bay, hitting the side in the first inning. Alex Colome had his best outing of the spring, sniffing two batters and keeping the Rays goalless on the third.

Keon Broxton, who emerged as a candidate for the fight for the twins’ fourth outfielder role, also decided on the twins on Sunday. Broxton put a pitch into orbit for a three-run thing in the seventh inning.

The only Twins player to score multiple hits was outfielder Kyle Garlick, who went 2v2 with two RBIs.

Minnesota returns to the field at 12 noon Tuesday to face the Baltimore Orioles at Hammond Stadium. The game will air on FOX Sports North.
