eBay launches new trainer authentication scheme

The trainer resale market is a billion dollar business where the most sought after shoes are bought and resold online for a huge profit.

To combat counterfeiting, eBay is launching a program to authenticate high quality trainers sold on its platform in the UK.

The program is already running in the US but is now expanding in the UK with the opening of a warehouse dedicated solely to inspecting the most expensive coaches on sale.

The BBC took a quick look at the operation, which is set to expand in the coming months.
