Filament Wound Epoxy Tubing Can Be Made With a Range of Additives

Uses for Filament wound epoxy tubing is a material that is made by winding layers of carbon or fiberglass fiber around an epoxy resin core to create a strong and lightweight tube. This type of tubing is utilized in a variety of applications, including medical devices and aircraft structures.

They can be made with a range of additives, including polyfunctional amines, phenols and alcohols. Each can change the resin’s viscosity, intrinsic properties, and even its Tensile strength. These additives can either be added to the epoxy during the process of making or added after curing. It is all dependent on the requirements of the final product.

You can also alter the amount of binders that are used to attach the epoxy resin to the substrate. These binding agents include, but aren’t limited to acrylic binders and vinyl esters.

Binders are also employed to decrease the amount of dust from air that could get caught in the resin. This could improve the performance of these tubes since airborne particles can cause abrasions that can cause damage to the structure.

The binding agents can also be used to protect against fire and water. This can be especially important if the tube is exposed to extreme temperatures or chemical substances.

These resins can also be used to maintain and repair many household items, such as fragile pieces of ceramic, glass or china. Because of the adhesive nature of these materials, they are able to be easily and quickly bonded to a variety objects, offering a quick and efficient way to fix damaged or broken items without damaging them.
