Heesen Delivers 55m Moskito – The ‘Shark-Tooth’ Superyacht

Heesen yachts recently announced the delivery of Moskito, previously known as Project Pollux. The 55-meter yacht with a gross tonnage of 760 GT is the second yacht from Heesen The exterior of the superyacht comes from Omega Architects, who characterized Moskito as a shark tooth structure with vertical windows and overhangs on the second deck and who embody the idea of ​​elegance on the water. The design features the latest version of the highly efficient Fast Displacement Hull form by van Oossanen. Powered by IMO III-compliant MTU 8V 4000 M63, it offers economical fuel consumption of just 150 liters per hour at 11 knots for a really economical passage.

Her interior comes from the London studio Bannenberg & Rowell and is both luxurious and relaxed. “It works just as well whether you’re wearing shorts and a T-shirt or dressed for dinner,” said Dickie Bannenberg. The decor combines bold solutions with a casual look, for example in the dark eucalyptus and in the pale sycamore carpentry and in the chevron parquet of the main salon. Other features to look out for include a soft-radius cladding and an eye-catching pole installation. Moskito’s well-appointed amenities are illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows and open bulwarks, whose expansive sea-to-sky views immerse guests in the beauty of the surroundings. Moskito has six cabins including a master suite for the owner and five cabins for 10 guests. The 13 crew members are accommodated in seven cabins.

After delivery, Moskito will set off on its maiden voyage to Malta. Captain Phil Larkin and his 12 crew members will cover their non-stop distance of 2,800 nautical miles over the 81 waypoints of the transit plan – an authentic shakedown cruise ideal for testing your brand new yacht in all conditions.
