Houston Rockets player assaulted Sunday night in Miami

Houston Rockets forward Sterling Brown sustained facial injuries when he was attacked with a bottle outside a club in Miami late Sunday.

“He had no prior knowledge or interaction with the attackers,” said the Missiles said in a statement. “He suffered facial injuries but will make a full recovery.”

Brown has already been classified as injured for Monday’s game against the Miami Heat.

“I’ve spoken to him and he’s feeling better,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas told reporters ahead of the game.

Brown signed with the Rockets in the free agency last year after spending the first three seasons of his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks. He averages 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 51 games with Houston.

While the money Brown agreed to a $ 750,000 deal with the city of Milwaukee after an incident he was in tased during an incident with the police. Police issued a parking ticket as the incident escalated.

The body cam video showed police stepping on Brown’s ankle and making fun of a potential civil rights complaint. The city admitted that its constitutional rights had been violated. The officers involved were disciplined and the city police chief apologized.
