Three Leicester players, including England midfielder James Maddison, were dropped for violating Covid-19 protocols after losing 3-2 at West Ham.
Brendan Rodgers said Maddison, midfielder Hamza Choudhury and striker Ayoze Perez have broken the rules.
Manager Rodgers added that all three will face Southampton for the FA Cup semi-finals next Sunday.
“We have a set of values for the team, for this club, and we have to adhere to them,” Rodgers told Sky Sports.
“It was a decision I made, an internal situation last weekend. It’s not the standard we expect. They are all good guys, good guys, but we have a standard on and off the pitch.
“The boys will be put back into the group after this game. It’s internal, it’s something we’ve been dealing with. The boys, it’s disappointing behavior, it’s a mistake. It’s not what we’re about . “
Leicester’s defeat at West Ham weakened their position in the top four of the Premier League, with the Hammers advancing to fourth place within a point of third-placed Foxes.
In a statement released on Sunday, Leicester said: “The club has made its expectations for compliance with the Covid-19 protocols clear to all employees.
“It is therefore extremely disappointing to learn of a breach that could undermine club staff’s efforts to protect the environments our teams train and play in. Appropriate steps have been taken to prevent our team bubbles from being compromised. “
“We fully expect our people to behave in ways that reflect the national efforts and sacrifices of our communities to control the spread of the virus. Those involved have apologized for their poor judgment.
“Our response to the matter will be finalized internally.”
Maddison has been a key player for Leicester that season. He scored 11 goals and made 10 assists in all competitions.
He is fighting for a place in the English squad of Gareth Southgate for the final of the European Championship this summer.
Perez has scored three goals in 27 games while Choudhury has scored once in 20 games.
