Donald Trump’s controversial “zero tolerance” policy and the resulting images of migrant children being torn from their parents’ arms defined moments in his administration. On the first day of his tenure, Joe Biden proposed a number of changes in American immigration policy, including an eight-year citizenship path for undocumented immigrants and an orderly refugee resettlement plan. However, more than 4,200 migrant children are currently in custody and the process of dealing with them is in chaos.
