Kid Cudi turned heads with his choice of wardrobe on “Saturday Night Live”.
The rapper was a musical guest on Saturday’s episode hosted by the actress “Promising Young Woman” Carey Mulliganand played the songs “Tequila Shots” and “Sad People” from his latest album “Man on the Moon III: The Chosen”.
Cudi wore a cardigan and T-shirt with a picture of the late “SNL” actor Chris Farley for his performance of “Tequila Shots”. And for “Sad People” he put on a white floral dress with spaghetti straps, which he combined with a chunky skeleton chain. He ended the performance with a smile and a curtsey.
Twitter largely praised the artist’s bold outfits, naming his dress “fabulous” and “Wonderful,” and praise him for “break social norms.”

Many users on social media also pointed to similarities between Cudi’s clothes and those of the late Kurt Cobain. Cudi seemed to be paying the tribute deceased nirvana singer with his green cardigan and floral print dress that Cobain famously wore.
“Recognize a pattern here,” wrote a Twitter user and shared pictures of Cobain and Cudi next to each other.
Another Twitter user pointed to the anniversary of Cobain’s death last week. The grunge icon died of suicide on April 5, 1994 at the age of 27.
“Kid Cudi is drawing the ultimate Kurt Cobain tribute to #SNL the week of that death,” @ DArmstrong44 wrote. “@KidCudi all about love and suicide prevention and awareness !!!”
Cudi last appeared in “SNL” in 2018 Kanye West, his cooperation partner in their Kids See Ghosts project.
In addition to his musical performances on Saturday, Cudi also made a sketch with “SNL” actors Pete Davidson and Chris Redd, who parodied their love for flutes. “I love that weird little flute,” they sang in the rap number that featured an actor Timothée Chalametwho hosted “SNL” last December.
