Ole Miss fires offensive line coach Randy Clements days after spring football game

Just three days after the football game in the spring Be a miss has fired offensive coach / running game coordinator Randy Clements, school officials confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

Clements, who was starting his sophomore season at Ole Miss, was hired by Lane Kiffin shortly after Kiffin was named Rebel head coach in December 2019.

Sources told ESPN that Kiffin’s decision to fire Clements was related to footballing reasons rather than off-field issues. Kiffin told Clements that he would be moving on Tuesday morning.

“After meeting with Coach Clements, it was determined that it was in the best interests of both parties to part ways,” Kiffin said in a statement. “We are grateful to Coach for the work he has done for our team over the past year and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

Ole Miss led the SEC in a rush last season (210.6 yards per game) and was fourth in the allowed sacks (19).
