There are still a few precious days in the Olympic games. Have some more coffee as we’re nearing a gold medal in women’s basketball where Sue Bird and Team USA face Serbia in the semi-finals (12:40 p.m. ET). The American might peak at the right time, OK, pay attention.
Speaking of the high point at the right time: April Ross and Alix Klineman’s A-Team crowned their Olympic run with a gold medal in beach volleyball and only lost one set during the entire tournament. Ross and Klineman defeated Australian duo Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar 21-15, 21-16.
Americans could win gold medals and both men’s and women’s golf. After Xander Schauffele won the men’s title, Nelly became Korda holds a four-shot lead at the women’s tournament. The third round started on Thursday evening. A tropical storm has already cut the tournament down to 54 holes, but the weather reports looked good to get going.
Here’s the best action from Tokyo:
A team wins gold
The USA is back at the top of the beach volleyball world. April Ross and Alix Klineman’s A-Team defeated Australian duo Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar 21-15, 21-16 when the US won gold for the fourth time in the last five Olympics.

Another backflip in stock?
Gable Steveson, an NCAA wrestling champion at 285 pounds, has a chance to win gold in the men’s freestyle at 125 kg. He’s known for celebrating his victories with a backflip – which is impressive for anyone, let alone a wrestler his size. Does he have another party planned?
