Rugby World Cup 2021: England open campaign against Fiji in New Zealand

England will try to do better than the 2017 tournament if they finish second in New Zealand

England will open their Rugby World Cup against debutants Fiji at Eden Park, New Zealand next year.

With the Tournament delayed by a year Due to Covid-19, the games have been reorganized which means England’s opening game will no longer clash with Wales’ opening game.

The Welsh players will play their opener against a team that survived qualifying the next day.

Scotland and Ireland still want to qualify for the flagship project for women.

The changes also make England’s game against France a second game.

In the opening game of the tournament on Saturday, October 8, 2022, South Africa will host France at Eden Park before England face Fiji in the same location.

The final game of the opening day at Eden Park with hosts and five-time New Zealand champions will face Australia.

The new games on the pool stage will start earlier for both Wales and England fans. Almost all games start between 02:15 and 05:45 GMT.

The only exception is the England-France game, which is scheduled to start at 8:00 AM GMT.

England has won the Women’s Rugby World Cup twice in 1994 and 2014 and was runner-up five times.
