Tigers agree to minor-league deal with Wily Peralta

DETROIT (AP) – The Tigers have signed a minor league deal with right-hander Wily Peralta.

Detroit said Friday that Peralta will receive an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Peralta, 31, has not played in major leagues since 2019, when he was 2-4 in 42 reliefs for Kansas City with 5.80 ERA. He had 14 parades for the Royals the year before.

Detroit general manager Al Avila said earlier this week that the Tigers are still looking for more pitching and that at least one more starter would be ideal. Peralta has made 120 big league starts, though his last was with Milwaukee in 2017.
