Utah Jazz 112, Miami Heat 94

SALZSTADT (AP) – Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points to lead the Utah Jazz for their seventh straight win, 112-94 over the intense heat on Saturday night.

Bojan Bogdanovic 19 points added and Rudy Gobert had 16 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for the jazz. Georges Niang 14 points and five assists at career height.

Utah (22-5) has won 18 of its last 19 games since a 4-4 start.

Kendrick Nunn scored 20 points for Miami, which missed 11 straight shots to open the third quarter. Jimmy Butler 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists added. Bam Adebayo finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

The Heat had a four-game winning streak.

Mitchell made three straight baskets in just 58 seconds, including back-to-back reverse layups, to trigger a 16-0 jazz run to kick off the second half. Royce O’Neale finished the run with a steal and slam, putting Utah in the lead 63-42.

Miami only scored its first points in the second half Tyler Herro hit a jumper with 5:51 in the third quarter.

Miami led through the entire first quarter after taking a 13-4 lead. Butler scored one basket and helped three others give the heat the early advantage.

Battling a stubborn heat defense in the opening quarter to build a steady rhythm on the offensive, Utah went 1 to 12 from 3-point range.

The shots were fired in the second quarter. Utah scored baskets on six straight possessions earlier in the reporting period and connected them with 31 on a layup by Bogdanovic. Jordan Clarkson scored a basket and assisted four others along the way.

Herro and Max Strus scored two consecutive baskets to make it 36-31 the Heat, then missed eight straight shots and went six minutes without scoring.

Utah responded with a 14-0 run at this distance and took a 45:36 lead. The jazz was eventually continued for the first time in successive baskets by O’Neale and Clarkson.
